LANSING — When Aharon Hebert and Will Green started Bangos, their Lansing-centered food truck, in summer 2019 it wasn’t meant to stand on its own.

“We were originally going to open a comedy club because we know each other from doing stand-up,” Hebert said.

The truck, a former Frito-Lay delivery vehicle they painted baby blue and retrofitted with a kitchen, would be parked outside the club after it opened, he said, eliminating the need for a menu or kitchen inside.

The comedy club never came to fruition, but Bangos took off.

On the weekend mornings, customers often form a line outside the truck in one of the two spots where Hebert parks it — outside Babe’s Corner off East Michigan Avenue or The Brew Café off North Creyts Road.
