The Global Fixed Income (FI) group at BlackRock manages more than $2.8 trillion in fixed income assets across index, active, and liability driven strategies. The platform offers fixed income investors one of the industry’s broadest array of investment choices across index, model-based and fundamental investment styles.

The Princeton PMG FI Municipal COO team is seeking a Vice President to join its team. The Business Management (COO) team in Princeton supports the overall management of the PMG Municipal Fixed Income department, including planning, budgeting, reviewing & improving business processes, supporting new products / instruments, collaborating closely with technology & operations departments, and providing key reporting to senior leadership.

Individual should be able to demonstrate a desire to develop a deep understanding of BlackRock’s technology platform and its application to financial markets and FI’s business activities. By deploying strong project management skills and an ability to conduct business process reviews, the successful candidate will craft creative solutions, drive them through to implementation while ensuring broad communication in the context of overall business strategy.

– Leading the general business management operations including budget, expense and headcount management, goals and objectives and assist with financial planning
– Deliver project management and business analysis for critical initiatives (including those relating to portfolio management, trade and post trade operations and investment and business process analysis)
– Provide real time participation and feedback to ensure ongoing development and maintenance of relevant systems, infrastructure, applications, and tools. Apply best practices, fostering change and improvements, and make recommendations based upon the business needs
– Act as lead on projects for the platform that improve controls, mitigate risk, control costs and increase efficiencies through coordination with stakeholders to ensure effective execution as per defined timelines and tracking deviations
– Ensure clear project structure and communication appropriate to the scale and complexity of the project; this includes proactive identification and escalation of any issues and risks related to the project and provision of regular management information
– Ad hoc Requests: assist team with data requests, trainings and demos, daily reporting, analytics and RQA efforts, etc.
– Provide support for business continuity exercises (BCP), recovery strategies and other platform initiatives including coordination with Desktop Technology, Space Planning and other business support teams on change management initiatives.
– Operational risk: drive discussions about operating events and process efficiencies to help mitigate operational risk
– Financials: Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes (sales and expenses) and communication and collaboration with partners in FP&A
– Manage department footprint, headcount and pipeline plans with recruiting, hiring managers, and FP&A including business leads and recruiting partners to open up positions, req’s, prioritize open roles and ensure diverse hiring slates
– Perform governance and administration tasks including Internal audit, recertification of share folders and drives, closing out of action plans, etc.
– Manage vendors, including contract renewals and invoicing in partnership with SVM with IDS

The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, self-motivated individual who has experience working in successful business environment.

– 4+ years of business management related and financial services experience
– Strong prioritization, communication and interpersonal skills with ability to multitask in a dynamic environment; highly organized with excellent attention to detail
– Clearly exhibits sound business judgment, adept at problem solving and understands how to navigate a sophisticated organization
– Strong financial, quantitative and data analysis abilities
– Detail and task oriented; able to successfully coordinate and lead multiple projects and priorities in a cross-functional team environment
– Sophisticated skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; programming skills or database knowledge a plus
