COATESVILLE — The City of Coatesville and the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) have partnered to present a nine-week Business Skills for Success for the Entrepreneur training series, held virtually. The program is ideally suited for start-ups and early-stage companies in business for a minimum of two years.
Entrepreneurs of all ages are invited to participate to gain the skills and resources necessary to take their emerging or existing small business to the next level.
The workshops will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for nine consecutive Tuesdays, beginning on June 8 and running through August 3. The cost is $25 and includes all sessions. Registration remains open until throughout the program. The program will culminate with a Shark Tank-like pitch competition including cash prizes, plus the opportunity to showcase products and services during Coatesville’s open-air Pop Up & Shop markets starting June 26th continuing throughout the summer.
Sessions will be led by the City of Coatesville and Kutztown University facilitators, business leaders and SCORE guests. The interactive workshops are designed for individuals seeking to bolster or scale up their emerging businesses with topics including business planning and modeling, marketing and sales growth, social media and web analytics, bookkeeping, financing, and more.
“Last year, we celebrated 20 participants who graduated from the first series of workshops,” says James Logan, Coatesville City Manager. “Coatesville has an active entrepreneurial community, and this City program in partnership with Kutztown University provides a wealth of business resources, guidance, and opportunities to support and showcase emerging businesses.”
“Kutztown University is once again happy to be part of training for the City of Coatesville, and we are looking forward to our continued collaboration with business owners, leaders, and partners,” says Kecia Sturdivant, Assistant Director of Kutztown University SBDC.
