    H&R Block’s Wave unit plans new AR abilities

    H&R Block’s financial technology innovation arm, Wave, is adding new accounts receivable features to its small-business bookkeeping software. In July, Wave plans to add new AR management features, including an activity tab that will supply a view of all the business’ interactions with any customer. The feature helps Wave’s customers understand where to direct their time and efforts and more effectively manage customer relationships. Other recently added AR features include an invoice list view for identifying customers with unpaid invoices. A new customer list view lets users see how much any customer owes, without needing to sort through multiple invoices,

    John Roberts is all business in his conservatism

    The decision was a manifestation of one of Roberts’ core interests, tied to Fifth Amendment protection against government takings “without just compensation,” dating all the way back to his years in the Ronald Reagan administration and then in private practice representing business interests.     Liberty Mutual hail alert tool spurs policyholders to act, protect vehicles

    Liberty Mutual’s free, opt-in hail alert service prompted 44 percent of customers to move their vehicle in time to avoid hail damage, a survey of policyholders found. “We are constantly testing new digital insurance offerings and services that expand protection to our customers in ways beyond insurance,” Liberty Mutual global retail markets innovation head Adam L’Italien said in a statement Wednesday. “A value-added service like our Hail Alerts helps to create deeper connections with our customers by keeping them and their property safe from the unexpected.” The seeming success of the feature means body shops and storm chasers across
